Title: does tim not recommend the ceramic warpig?
Post by: JoshuaLogan on March 30, 2007, 07:18:12 PM
I was wondering, since it's not actually listed on the site, does tim himself not actually like or recommend the ceramic version of the warpig?

I doubt Tim would ever make a pickup he didn't like himself, he is quite the tone connoisseur after all.

It's more likely that the site hasn't been updated (look at the rebel yell for example it still has no description) because there is a new one on the way. Otherwise, it's possibly because the ceramic version is technically (correct me if I'm wrong) a custom build, I think you need to order it specially.

I love it :D , it's simply a custom option-apologies for not adding it officially.New site will be done soon and it'll all be on there.

hmm, if I'd really bother I for sure could dig out veeeeery old quotes that said that a loooong time ago.

Actually I don't think anyone really needs a new site. Just some content updates would do, I got so used to the way this forum looks and works, not keen on a change at all ...

Like god loves all his children?
Our Father, which art in Devon,
    Excellent be thy Hair.
    Thy Pickups come.
    Thy tone be done,
in set necks as it is in bolt ons.
Give us this day our daily rewinds.
    And forgive us our GASses,
As we forgive them that GAS against us.
    And lead us not into Muddiness;
But deliver us from Seymour Duncan:
For thine is  Wound, made and played the traditional way --- by hand,
    For ever and ever.
    Amen.
erm...off topic but I'd been waiting to post that and it wasn't worth starting a new thread for.

When the site changes, the forum will change with it for a number of reasons; mainly security, features, and easier to administrate.

I for one love the soon-to-be forum (but I may be biased); I find it more intuitive and there are a lot more features.  However, it will take a little getting used to for those who don't like change. :)

There are always people who get used to something and don't like change,  and there will be those who love the change.

What we need to establish and to ensure, is that those that like the change significantly outweigh those who don't. :-) Easier said than done though.

We'll never please everybody all of the time, but we can darn well try! :D

Yes. It won't be too different. The structure is exactly the same; It is similar to both PHPBB and YABB.

The current database will be fully migrated to the new forum.  (Although this is a one way street. :-))

Fear not :-)

Theres only one thing i've ever felt this forum lacked, and thats in it's search features.

When im trying to find clips, i search in the players section but get loads of results back of people talking about lesser recorded pickups, like the abraxas and emeralds.

I think the new forums search features have got to have a 'topic only' search to make finding clips much more straight forward.

The new  site is coming, I know I've been threatening it for almost 2 years now but if you could see the work load we're constantly under you'd probably see why I've had to keep putting it onto the back burner. The old site works and we've patched it up now and again but that's no excuse for not delivering. The forum will change too but only for the better and we will of course listen to any constructive critique. Thanks for the constant support, good humour and excellent forum we have!

Bare Knucklism: The Church of Tone, o wait lovepedal already uses that name haha

love the various biblical passage references :)

We need a genesis section paralleling the history of Bare Knuckle pickups. On the first day Tim created the Mule and it was good. On the 2nd day, Tim created the Warpig and it was good. and so on. Then he said, let there be TONE, and there was, and it was good.

Next we need some sort of exodus story. Deliver my people from Pharoah Seymour Duncan or something to that effect. It could be a journey of how we all switched over from different companies.

This could be a fun project.
