how much a USED Jackson Y2K V is worth. A mate of mine is selling one in ok condition and I am VERY tempted to buy it, he wants a little over £1000, worth it?
Andy!

Depends how old it is, i'm guessing it is fairly old since i havn't even seen one of them in the Jackson line up ever. I wouldn't pay that much, you can buy a custom made guitar for that much!
-
custom made guitars are generally about 500-1000 more mate.
-
Not really, it depends who you buy them from. I'm not talking about going to ESP, i mean going to less known brand like Feline guitars and Legra guitars.
-
Had a quote from Feline - around £2k

My Jake E Lee strat was about £900 from Legra.

Try Legra. You must have real high specs for it to be 2k!

I'd go for it. They are gonna go up in value as they get older. They're quite rare too. If it's in good condition, then his price is cool.
For those that don't know, the Y2KV was Dave Mustaines last signature guitar with Jackson just before he left them in 2002.

the Y2kv is a cool guitar.. and pretty rare..a G seems about right
-
Very cool, rare, collectible guitar. I would buy it.
-
yeah, it was a limited edition around the year 2000 if I remember right (y2k!)... really depends, do you want something that may be collectible and go up in value? if so, go for it as everyone's said.
If you just want a good guitar, seeing as how it's your mate's, I guess he'll let you try it, and again if you like it, go for it.
Legra is most certainly worth a look too, they aren't as expensive as you'd think.
