Post by: yZeCounsel on April 05, 2007, 06:52:17 PM
Okay I did a search specific to this site with these terms

coil tap Mules alnico  HERE (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Abareknucklepickups.co.uk+coil+tap+Mules+alnico&btnG=Search)

I was not able to glean  any information available on how the  ALNICO II Mules (NOT THE ALNICO IV) sound when tapped or split.

Anyone try this?

I am trying to decide between the 4 conductor or 2 conductor ALNICO II'S

I'd order 4-conductor and try the split mode. If you don't like it, just wire it in a regular way. You'll only have to desolder the coil tap (I think green and white wire soldered together) from the switch and tape it out of the way.

You can also buy them with Alnico III. It all depends on your guitar and the sound you're after.
