Hey everyone,
Easter weekend... neighbours and my house mates on holiday can only mean one thing: Get out the Marshall and crank it up!
This is my first ever attempt at recording a mic'ed up guitar amp myself, so recording tips appreciated.
I used a Les Paul Classic with Bare Knuckle Mules in bridge and neck. The amp is a Marshall Jubilee 2550 with a Zilla Music 1x12 cab (Vintage 30 speaker). I mic'ed it with an SM58, and added compression and slapback echo in Logic Express.
It's a cover of Aerosmith's Love in an Elevator (obviously), but I cut out the second verse because it gets a bit boring without vocals.

Intro riff is played with the neck pickup, and the verse + chorus riffs are the bridge pickup. The solo trades licks between pickups.

Nice! Mules are still my favourite Bareknuckles so far, I cant believe I considered changing them for VHIIs at one point :o

Muuuuuuuules Ruuuuuuuule. Dude that was awesome! I could hear what the solo was doing so much clearer than the 'rigonal. Great tone. I have one in a strat in the bridge, but still jonesin' for a Paul to put another mule in. The neck tone was so nice. spot on playing as well

Thanks dude... Although it might be clearer because some of the licks on the original solo are recorded backwards!
