Paul Gilbert and his band are getting ready to hit the road on the upcoming U.S. G3 tour! This years line up once again features Joe Satriani and John Petrucci. The tour begins March 14th in Phoenix, AZ, and wraps up April 11th in New York City. Also keep an eye out for some Australian and New Zealand clinics from Paul in early March!
does this mean no vai ? :?
Still, i've been waiting for a G3 with gilbert for years now

Also, no UK dates as yet... or any outside the US. THey've gotta make it a world tour, right?
-
Satch, Petrucci, and Gilbert?!
Sounds MUCH more interesting than Vai tbh.
But then again, I don't really understand all the Vai hipe.
-
^ +1 on Vai, but hey, we're all different.
G3 better come through Australia this year, seeing as I missed Petrucci last year  .
Just realised... $%!!! Gilbert was going to do his Australian clinics in early March and now it's early April!! Awwww, I was looking forward to that :x
-
Gilbert's at the Mean Fiddler sometime in the next 2 months :D
June 3rd if I remember right.
-
if anyone's looking for Vai, he's touring in June and July in Europe, i know i'll be there 8)

i'd prefer vai to petrucci @ g3 too
-
I just saw G3 on thursday.
it was great PG was the stand out.
JP was great
Joe even tore the roof off. playing better than i had seen him in years.
the Jams were awesome
PG was the man.
-
i'd prefer vai to petrucci or gilbert, but since vai is touring here anyway...
i must get some tickets for that.
-
I saw Vai the last time G3 was here. I'd prefer Gilbert or Petrucci to him (although I must say Vai was WAY better live than recorded), as I love them both. Anything's better than Robert Fripp though
Satch said last month that that there'd probably be a European tour in the autumn.
-
I was disappointed at first that G3 werent going to tour the UK.. but I only wanted to see Gilberto, so I'll just go to either the Dudley or London gig :D
-
I would like to see a Extreme G666 with michael Angelo, chris impelliteri and Vinnie Moore, since jason becker is unable to play .
Q:P

please no angleo ...

I actually prefer Vai recorded. I reckon the ego kinda gets in the way of the music a lot of the time, but hey, that's all part of the performance I spose.
Wait a minute Indysmith... I thought you hated everything to do with shred?

please no angleo ...
nah, that'd be cool, we could ask him for hairstyle advice.

Ha, I'm already imagining his reaction. Did anyone see his posts on the Dean Forum? Total knob, I say
-
he isnt that much of a knob actually, but he gets VERY defensive about his stuff.
it's not like yngwie that goes.. you dont like it? fine, $% off then.
batio starts ranting about his stuff and nitro in an instant.
though i must say, after these 'clinics' of his that he had here, i cant stand the dude anymore. and especially the friend he has here.. that guy is a total knob, as you'd put it

shred is a circus act and i like the circus... and paul gilbert writes some good tunes; i really like his style and sense of humour
