OK, he needs a Warpig!
And BM is about the most enthusiastic young Guitarist I can remember meeting. Vote now!

Hey dude, glad you like the thread :) A moment of genius on the tube home tonight! (if I do say so myself)

My Warpigs are both Alnico, which I went for because I wanted to be able to get a more organic lower gain sound out of them as well as the brutal crushing! But from I've read, you're gonna love that Ceramic Pig to bits BM. They are more brutal than the Alnico version, with a tighter absolute killer bass response that absolutely nails those palm-muted low E's for 6 (or what ever it is you crazy kids down tune to these days).

Basically, think KMFDM / Ministry. But you don't need a bassist to beef up the low end 'cos its all in there already

How can you even think about stuff on the tube in rush hour?! Last time I was there, all I could think about was how to get away from sweaty men holding onto those ceiling-handle things, thus exposing their armpits to the whole of the packed carriage   :?

Nice ... :(

But its the first hot part of the year, and I go from Hammersmith to Kings Cross, so through Picadilly Circus / Leicester Square / Covent Garden. This means the tube is full of scantilly clad young people a lot of the time  :D Plus I was listening to various tracks on my iPod trying to work out if they could be 'pimped' by playing through a Warpig on full tilt

But last summer when it was really hot, it was evil. Everyone was sweating within 30 secs of the door closing, and for some reason it was frikking more packed than usual. Like people were enjoying it down there ... very odd.

But anyhow, enough now. Lets not let TFL ruin BM's happiness!!

I decided to save him from himself by voting no.

As a parent I know it's for the best

What drives me mad about the bloody underground is the bloody 10 minute stop just outside of North Greenwich when I am flanked by smelly bar-stewards in suits, who had obviously be consuming rancid currys the night before  :x

Or the DLR when the chav scum decide to tie a dog to the track  :x  :x  :x

I think he's fetched Joe's old ceramic one, just nicely broken in :)
Not that its possible to house train a Warpig I imagine ... :)

And blue, don't make me start a 'should blue have a proper kettle' thread ... smirk ...

Glad you got the pickup & hope you don't get too much hassle.

If it's any consolation it dosn't get any easier, wives are definately the worst. They want to buy useless things like food and clothes for the kids. Fecking inconsiderate is what I call it !

Heh,
Warpigs turn your back for 5 minutes and theyre sacrificing your pets, having partys & trying to steal your dads car !

Well you can imagine my thoughts on the bath business, when my son told me on the phone, I thought he was making it up ! My workmates where pissing themselves at my side of the phone call.

Though to be honest if it had been somebody else I would have been snoggering as well.

Opeth will sound superb dude (must get round to fetching me some), and you MUST do clips immediately on receipt of your new instrument of War (pig based)

I was thinking along the lines of stuff that isn't already seriously heavy:
* The Final Countdown
* Their Law / Voodoo People (Prodigy)
* ermm, there was definitely more ...

Any other suggstions welcome :)

by the way, if you are looking for Opeth, start here:
- Ghost Reveries
- My Arms Your Hearse
- Blackwater Park
my 3 favourite albums

Well they could do without shoes and less food anyway. My son isnt so bad and is attempting to save money by not using soap.

Heh, as you can guess they get everything they need and most of what they want :) I also did give hum my Wolfgang for his birthday last year cos he stuck with his lessons even though he is as un musical as I am)

Take care not to alienate your dad if possible, it only makes things more difficult.

On a related note, when I were a nipper my Dad hated me playing the guitar in the house and didn't really understand any of the Rock / metal thing at all. I wasn't allowed to buy myself anything more powerful than a 10w pratcice amp and some shitety 2nd hand squire. It wasn't till I left to go to College that I really took up the guitar as I could play it for more than 10 mins without getting a bollocking :)

However, (forward 15 years) two years ago I bought him a Led Zeppelin DVD for xmas. He'd just got himself a surround sound system and within 10 minutes of listening to Page et al it was on max volume and he was hooked. He just bought himself a guitar festival DVD with Steve Vai on it, and now he wants more METAL. He said the next time me and the wife visit him, I have to bring my amp and guitar too and make some noise!

Lesson: Rock always finds a way :)

But as Kilby says, don't push it ...
