Hi all
I'm Chris, an old friend of jt's, and he asked me to post for him about recent events, and why he hasn't been a regular on the forum for a while. Eight weeks ago John was admitted to hospital for an urgent operation to remove a blockage to his intestine. He has only been conscious for the last 2 or 3, and up to then his condition was critical, with only 5% chance of survival at the worst point. He's out of the ICU now and getting back to his old self slowly. Physical recovery is going to take a few more months and a lot of physio, and he's a while off playing a guitar although I think it's a hot priority for him! If you could post your wishes on this topic I could print it out and take it in for him - I know he would really appreciate it. For those who may live near, he is in Heather Ward, King George's Hospital, Barley Lane, Goodmayes, Essex, visiting 2pm-8pm. I'll keep you up to date with his progress.
Best regards
Chris

-
Good luck JT!
Get back to the axe soon ;)

only a real rocker could pull through like that jt! glad you're getting better; look forward to seeing you back on here.
-
I'm truely sorry to hear that, please send him our best wishes for a rapid recovery.
If it helps in saying this, a friend of mine ended up with a knot in his intestine, and although it was touch and go for a while, he did make a complete recovery. I'm sure now the worst is over JT will be doing the same.
Rob...

Hey JT, us old skool VHII users have to stick together, right?
It sounds like you are having a really tough time of it. I hope you get well real soon. However, there is always a silver lining and you did manage to avoid Afghan Dave posting a picture of a Japanese girl performing a sex act on a dog. What is it they say, 'be thankful for small mercies'?
Seriously though, I wish you all the best and hope you get well soon.
If you need someone to look after your guitars...
Best of luck mate, and I'll see you soon on the forum!

I was thinking yesterday I hadn't seen much you on the forum. Man you sound like you've been to hell and back, it must of been awful. I hope you get well soon and get jamming on your Preacher. Thanks to your mate Chris for letting us all know. You might have to lay off the currys for a while!
-

Keep smiling mate  :P :?

Fantastic response, John will be really moved but he won't show it coz he's a geezer AND a Gooner. I can see why he's such a fan of this forum, let alone the pickups!
I'll keep you all posted, and as soon as he can use one I'll take him in a laptop. Hopefully in the not too distant future.
Thanks again
Chris

Hi all
Sorry for the lack of news, but the important thing is John is making great progress. He was overwhelmed by the response from you guys and sends his heartfelt thankyou to all. He also sys how much he misses the forum. We are about to sort out a laptop with 3G connectivity, and his dexterity is coming back fast, so expect a post from John himself soon. I took him in a guitar about a week ago - his old Ibanez ST55 with a set of 8s on it - but he finds it difficult to get a comfortable playing position cos he is still mostly bed bound! He's getting on with a RiffGrip extra light for now. It seems likely that he will be out in 4 weeks or so, and staying with his parents in Bedfordshire while he's still recovering.
Thanks again,
Best regards
Chris

Thanks for the update, funnily enough I was wondering how he was a couple of days ago. It is good to see that he is on the mend and that he has mates like you to help. Wish him all the best from me.
