Title: Vrituoslty and beautifull music lost on most?

Interesting article.

I'm sure a combination of lack of appreciation and being stressfully on their way somewhere made most pass by. Still a real shame, though.

We would have made more money and a larger audience if he had a beat box and a record player.

Off topic - But my mate's mobile phone comes out with "LOLOCAUST" every time he puts in "lol".

Funny thing is - He's jewish, and he doesn't know how to change it.

He's convinced that his phone is mocking him xD

That was a good article, and shows how stupid America is  However, it was a long read and most of it was pointless drivel, it could have been summarized in a few paragraphs.

Yeah you know, free editors get paid by the number of words they provide

I wouldn't pay him/her for every word that was written there, most of it was random cr@p and in the end it was just boring.

sorry but the article is just too huge
can anyone summarize what it all was about in just couple of sentences?

Virtuoso violin soloist busks for three-quarters of an hour in one of America's largest and supposedly-most-sophisticated cities; earns about $32 and hardly anyone even stops to listen.

A very interesting and slightly disheartening article; the bit that I found most striking was that almost all of the adults were too busy to spend a moment appreciating a master of his art, but every single child who passed by with a parent wanted to stop and listen. As someone who deliberately tries to remain as childish as possible in my daily life, I identified strongly with that image. :D

There's a rather snooty tone to that article - it seems to imply that it's just terrible that people ignored a great classical musician like Joshua Bell (whoever he is), but it wouldn't have mattered at all if it was a run-of-the-mill-nobody busker.

Personally, I have a lot of sympathy with the passers-by.  If you're on your way to feckin' work at 8 in the morning you may just not feel like listening to music - it's completely irrelevant whether it's good or bad.

And I agree Joe, it didn't half go on.  Editor!

Philly, I agree with you in part, but there's no denying that most people are completely oblivious to real musical talent in this current day and age.

Example - my home town, with a humble population of about twenty thousand was visited by Alexander Gavrylyuk - one of the most mind buggeringly INCREDIBLE classical pianists in the world. In Sydney, the asking price for a concert of his is about $150 AUD upwards. Knowing we were a regional area, he lowered the cost to about $15. He put on two concerts here at the Manning Entertainment Centre.

They were very well advertised around town, mind you - but I went to the second one, and there was hardly anyone there. I have never experienced a more amazing musician in my life, and he couldn't even fill a third of a 400 seat venue.

     What's the world coming to?

so everyone would have noticed him at piccadilly circus would they? the same would have happened in canada, germany, france, spain, any other country in the western world. It shows how busy America is during the rush hour.

Most of it was pointless drivel though
