Ok, this is the final pickup change for the Explorer!
Nailbomb was good but didn't have enough oomph! for what i wanted so i decided to get a Miracle Man and it is awesome and will not come out of this axe! :P

mmmm i wanna hear that!! bet it's metallica heaven 8)
-
Haha yeah it is, it's exactly what i wanted it to be :D
-
Glad you like it, joe!
-
awesome!!!!!! it's even got a dark cover, which makes it looks sinister with the gold hardware
-
How does the Miracle Man work with that upper midrange peak on the Explorer?
-
I think it balances out the eq well, gives me a nice semi-scooped kind of sound which is great for Metallica style riffing, but turn the mids up and it can get quite 80's.
-
The Black Cover looks awesome on that guitar
-
Asked some questions in the Pictures topic - Can I get some more shots of the Miracle man?
I'm considering a black pickup set atm...
-

very nice, the black cover works well... now you just need to change the neck pickup to make it match, lol.
-
Haha, i don't really use neck pickups very much at all. Therefore i can't see myself replacing it any time soon.

I want gold screws for my black cover, i think that would look cool. Especially if i finally get that black pickguard.

Haha, I bet you said that about your Ceramic 'Pig :) Sounds like alnico magnets aren't really your thing (re Nailbomb)...
But I'm glad you've finally settled on something... or have you?
PS - your guitar is real shiny :P
-

and where is that exact ceramic pig now? IN A BOX NEXT TO ME WAITING TO BE INSTALLED!!!!
hahaha!!!
no, joe, the guitar looks amazing like it is, it emphasizes the bridge pickup (which sounds like it sounds awesome  )
so people will know there is something special about it when they look at it

Haha yeah, in the reflection you can see my computer speakers and a coffee mug

^ My guitar has a shiny black finish too, but it always seems to be covered in my own sweaty filth PDT_047 . I kinda never bother to clean it

Sounds just like my black SG.
-
and my razorback :)
every time i try to clean it, i leave even more cr@p on it
what should be used, and how the hell do you get it like that joe?
-
Haha, i just wiped it with a plain clothe, must be the way i took the photo.

whaaat? whenever i wipe it with a cloth, it just leaves wipe marks!!
-
Hmm Dr Robert recommends Sparkle, a supposedly easily available non wax polish...I've never found it though
I've also heard Naptha is a good cleaner for removing cr@p without damaging a finish, even on cellulose laquers. I saw a video reccomending it once and Meguiars car polish to buff it to a shine.
Personally I use a gibson polish as I got some free once but generally just use a dry cloth

Star Drops are good

Haha, I can hijack threads without even trying!
