well i use my miracle man and im currently using a 500k pot and it only turns the volume down by quarter
but before when i was using it in same guitar with the ibanez v8 it used to go all the way down
could the pot be damaged or maybe it needs to be say a 250k pot???
this never bothered me until today.
it pissed me of that my guitar isnt fully functional
-
Sounds like a faulty pot, and 500k is the right value. I'd get a new one.

I'm with Twinfan on this one ... :D
-
k ill get a new one.
or maybe take one out of my les paul as i only use one control anyway
-
- Just another possibility; seeing as this problem has suddenly occurred at a pickup change, re-check the wiring as compared with the pot on the other pickup.
Whilst I cannot think of any wiring combination/error that would give this problem, you may have installed them
( understandably ) hastily and soldered something wrong.

its just the one volume control.
just wondering because a friends guitar all the stuff that is ground is to a tab on the pickup selector rather than a pot.
would i be best doing this when i get the new pot to avoid heat damage?
-
I don't see the point. I've got grounds on the back of all four pots in both my Les Pauls and my SG. All pots work perfectly. I'd get a new pot and wire it up as it is now.

The solution is simple: Don't use a volume control! PDT_008

I suspect that you have somehow disconnected the earth wire from the pot or the tag of the pot that should be connected to the back of the pot (either by a wire or bent and soldered onto it) and also earthed out is somehow disconnected
