1, What type of amplifier do you prefer?
A, Tube/Valve
B, Solid State
C, Digital Modelling
2, Do you believe digital modelling will ever be as good as tube as dynamic and do you believe digital modelling is the future of amplification?
A, Yes, Yes
B, Don't be stupid
Please just respond with an answer format like so.

2,b

1. tube/valve
2.not sure have a podxt...and even that through upgrades is getting
close(v1 was way off compared to now, have always owned valve amps previously, from a 70's hiwatt 50watt head and 4 x 12 - fender delux twin))....but then I have an atomic valve amp to warm up the sound

I think the modelling will get very. very good and become very popular for recording. However, I think the "old school" valve approach will stay just like the Les Paul and the Strat.

it'll almost get as good as tubes, but it won't be able to get as much dynamics as a valve amp.

i think unless they add the speaker reaction with the tube amp and how it reacts it will never get close..just my 2 cents

I definitely don't think the answer to the second question is "don't be stupid"! Digital modelling is avancing rapidly - it may never quite match valves, but it'll be as near as dammit. Valve amps will always be there, but they may become more of a niche market.

kinda agree with philly...but then have best of both with modelling for versatillity recording and real valve amp and speakers for live to warm up my pod

poll ended, got enough responces from a few different forums aswell.
Cheers guys.
