I hang on at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/ sometimes
mostly in the 'metal' section of the forum
-
i got banned fro UG cos i'm hardcore. *does something hardore*
-
Kepu.....why?
I used to go to UG as 'D Man'. I stopped. It was the playground atmosphere: too many idiots = too many gay little rules = no fun.
I poked my head in the door of the metal forum a couple of times, and hated it. 75% of the threads degenerated into genre debates. *Yawn*. Its music, not taxonomy. I sometimes thought that the main drive of the peeps there to listen to music was to correctly classify it, then argue about said classification

the metal forum is different nowadays really, but it's just the thing that you mustn't take it too seriously
it's pretty nice place actually

www.thegearpage.net
Some immensely knowledgeable people on there, but be prepared for GAS attacks unlike any you've ever experienced. Also, they tend not to be as "hardcore" as some people around here.
-
www.ultimatemetal.com
+1 :D

i like www.rig-talk.com (also doubles as the official HBE/Diezel/Cameron and some others etc. forums), it's pretty cool. Kind of an offshoot of HC (i also hang there). A lot of off-topic stuff both places, though.
the tavern is pretty cool, kind of an offshoot of UG (see my sig).
And I still hang at UG for some reason, I suspect against my better judgement (mark knows). oh, and brodo, you aren't hardcore if you've been banned from UG... it's probably a sign of good taste, lol.

www.hategrowth.net/forum

-
www.sevenstring.org
Met one of the moderators at a gig last night :p

I knock around at www.projectguitar.com as I'm a guitar fiddler
Also play around on an MG Midget forum, but we sold the (absolutely gorgeous) MG - Goddam bills  so I just go there for the conversation.
EDIT - I've been looking for a new job recently so I've been hitting the engineering forums and job sites. Remember kids - the only thing worse than having a job is looking for one
-
I'm on two other forums. The Gretsch forum on www.gretschpages.com and the Dutch Mustang & Ford Forum.
I've snooped around on other guitar forums.........usually not my kind of people.
-
i'm on the Dean Guitars forum as 'Twotone', it's very busy over there! good forum with plently o' pics though :D
http://www.laneyforum.com 'LazyNinja' owns this forum, but it seems to be down atm.....

- The "TDPRI" forum:
( Telecaster Discussion Page Reissue )
Has more discussions than just the Telecaster, although it is heavily biased towards the Tele of course.
Within it are Strat, Amps, Technical, Technique, Acoustic, Bass, off topic and Effects forums etc; there are also links to alternative (scarcely visited ) Strat and Gibson forums.
It's the only other guitar forum I have 'Bookmarked'.
:D

Forums are for internet geeks with no friends!
-
most forums suck because the people on them are douchebags... this forum owns most out there! 8)
-
I'm more an email list guy than a forum guy -- old school! 8)
I have a half dozen or so forums that I'm technically a member of, but I very rarely can be bothered to spend much time with them! I certainly read BKP more than any of the others, though I keep a vague on on the bass forum in the rickenbacker.com forums, and sometimes the Apple GarageBand user forum on the Apple web site.
-
I like the restoration forum on the Rickenbacker site (theres some beautiful rebuilds there)
Carlaz, I dunno if you noticed Rics EBay site which may manage to solve your bass pickup search http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZricQ2doutlet
Also it's a reasionable source of Ric pickups at a good price (US buyers only though)

Cool, I'll have to keep an eye on that. That eBay guy doesn't seem to offer any pickups at present, but perhaps eventually ....
Yeah, I could buy in the US and ship to my parents, who live there -- just takes a while for me to actually get stuff when I do that, so I haven't really gone down that road for the pickups yet!

I meant to PM you about it when I discovered the store (they had a bass horseshoe magnet pickup at the time), and with one thing and another I forgot :(
I'm thinking of trying to get one of those 400 series pickguards with the hi gains in. I take it you know that the toaster tops used in the bass, are the same models as the 6 string.
I also thought there may be people interested in the NOS 50s tuners

Eh, they'll be back!

Yeah, I'm angling for an HB1 in the bridge position on my 4001. Might get another for the neck or maybe a new single-coil high-gain. Then if I liked how that had gone, I might think about getting BKP to do a rewind :) I believe the HB1s are used in both the 4004 basses and various 6-string Ricks.

Ed Roman sometimes have them, I love the humbuckers in the 600 range(The most underrated guitar I can think of). Well theres a pair of hi gains in each of those 400 series pick guards ;)
I want my neck toaster rewound by Tim but as usual I have no money
Goodluck with your search

Yeah, I resemble that remark!

telecaster.com is an excellent forum - I've been on there since 1999
