This year I decided to make some new guitars as well as Pimp out a couple I had for the show.
I really wanted to do something with a Judas Priest vibe which would allow me to use the latest BKP Painkiller pickup set.
One will be a black Flying vee that would be great for KK Downing and the other is a Pimped Gibson SG made to look rather like Glenn Tipton's favourite axe from the early 80s
Here is a picture of that SG as a work in progress- hopefully get the Painkiller pickups tomorrow and also awaiting a chrome truss rod cover too
More pix as the work unfolds
Should both be at the LGS this weekend

feline: would you ever dare to make this guitar?

Hi Jonathan,
I see the original has a John Birch Bridge/Tailpiece combination. Can you get hold of these at all?
Cheers

sweet!
have a good show at LGS!
-
Probably a stupid question, but why is that (very fine) SG missing a tone knob?
-
Like the look of the SG...
I'm dying to know what it's going to sound like...

It's away being buffed on the soft inner thighs of a nubian princess, such is Jonathon's dedication to a quality finish

Sorry for delay in posting these pix.
I know Davey has been itching to see them even though he has played the beast.

Interesting body wood! So how does parana pine differ from "regular" pine? I remember reading years ago that Steve Miller had a custom Tele with a pine body, but I'd have thought it would be too soft?
