Title: Mule w/fuzzoctave fx
Post by: JJretroTONEGOD on April 26, 2007, 03:19:31 AM
Here's my setup for this track:

JJ Retro_Bridge-Mule-AlnicoIV_MJM Roctavios-(fuzzoctave)_VoxVR30 dirty channel_shure SM57 off axis_tapcomix120 mixer_Maudio192soundcard_Sonar_PC.

It starts with the Mule in the bridge-then on the doubletime bit, over to the BKP90 in the neck, then back to the mule again, you should notice when the pickups change.

It was just a very quick improv, just to show you what Mules sound like with a fuzz octave pedal, with a Vox VR30 amp, 10 inch speaker. No fx added to the guitar, tiny amount of compression on the bass and drum tracks.

It's a rough idea for a song.

What do you think?

don't know why anyone hasn't replied yet. i liked it. very cool. For some reason the recording doesn't sound as good as an sm57 should. maybe its because the guitar is a little low in the mix.

I dont know why as well? lol

Maybe they hate it, or maybe it's too good, maybe it's OK? I'll never know.

I agree on the guitar level, now giving it another listen.

Going off the subject here, does anyone know of a free mp3 encoder that's  PRISTINE quality? much better than the lame mp3 encoder that I'm currnetly using, cos the the lame one really is rubbish.

I apreciate the feedback that I've had so far, so thanks!

I'd still like to hear more opinions though. Dont be shy!

I think it's quite good. I like the 70's rock feel you have.

How do you like your configuration with a p90 neck and a PAF bridge. I am considering something similar for my LP. From your clip it seems to be working really well. How do you the different pups generally?

Hey Jazz Rock, the P90 and the Mule go together very well indeed. I highly recommend doing it in your LP, it's a killer combination. I like the way the P90 is slighly warmer and fatter than the Mule, BKP's will make the guitar come alive with tone! it's disturbing how much better my guitar sounded after I had them fit. You wont be wasting your money either, lifetime guarantee!
