What are peeps recommendations for places to shop for music gear, such as amps, rack units, pedals, A/B footswitches, accessories etc? Ideally somewhere with reliable service and trustworthy.
Also wouldn't mind knowing some of your recommended setups that you use.
Cheers!

www.thomann.de
Just pure awesome.

Yeah I like thomann too free shipping when you spend 199 EUR and it only takes around three days to arrive!
I do a lot of my shopping on ebay. Just make sure you're buying from a trustworthy person and you can bag bargains.

Hmmm. My only complaint about Thomann.de is that they want copies of either credit/debit card and other stuff... But they are cheap...

I don't think they did that to me :? . Maybe they check if your first order's above a certain value. I've been very impressed with their service each time I've ordered.

Same here. Cheap as chips (on some stuff) and top delivery.

Thomann have some stuff that's oddly expencive too, i use websites such as www.gak.co.uk to check the more regular price.

I've never used GAK - everything on their site seems to be in stock (or at least, not out of stock), in every possible colour. Which seems highly unlikely, so it puts me off. But maybe they really are that good.

They tried it with me - I was looking to get my SG Goddess from them. I phoned them up, because I prefer talking to people about things like this - and their website said 'order by this, send us that'. Don't have a fax. Wasn't overly happy about sending stuff like that through the post (if it's any kind of proof, then I don't think it's that safe)- and in any case didn't overly like the colour. So I told them to forget it. They still send me their catalog.
They are the only people who've ever asked me to do it...
-
That never happened to me I've ordered from them about 3-4 times and every time it was straight forward "add to basket">"checkout">"fill out details">"pay by card">"confirmation email (at which point you can even amend your order)">"arrives at my door 2-3 days later very very well packaged".....

In my experience they really are that good. Thety have a big warehouse down the road from the shop where they keep it all.
