Title: VH II... tech death?
Post by: Orkestra on May 10, 2007, 03:01:50 PM
Hey hey hey,

I use SD Full Shreds, EMG-85's and DiMarzio Evolutions mainly. It's been a while since i've tinkered with any of my guitars but I was skimming along the net at work and heard about the VHII... I know BK make some awesome p'ups, if I had the money i'd try/buy a number of them; but until im signed or something similar this is not to be!

Tell me this - I play techy, death thrash and i'm rather taken with the VHII's descriptions and reviews.

Will it crush, pump and cut? Or mud up?

I tune to Bb and don't like hot pickups normally associated with metal players these days (e.g. the Warpig - damn great though! EMG-81's and Duncan Distortions).

WILL IT TAKE THE CAKE? Also can I grab one in the worn out black cover I saw in an AD in Total Guitar mag? That shites the BOMB!

i believe it will do fine even though it is made more for leads than anything.

and yes you can get it in any cover,....you can even design your own.

i would probably say a nailbomb would suit better my friend plays tech metal in his band and uses one

Thats about 16k isn't it?

A little to hot for me... my tone is more crunch than distortion anyway - I have the gain about 4 and the channel volume all the way up on my ENGL powerball and only about 2o'clock on my Orange Tiny Terror.
I found the Seymour Duncan JB slightly to hot for me!

thank ye for the info though, i might have to design my own cover! Mwhaha!

Interesting, and good plan.

Might I recommend the crawler?

Yah, us lot love the ENGL's... hehe.

The crawler? Again, perhaps too hot for moi. I like my amp to do the push and the shove and my p'up to just hold it back from getting an ASBO, but also doing some general posturing and abusive comments.
