Wow you could buy a car for that lol.

I'd say the seller was stupid for selling them though it must have devalued his guitar more than the $6500 he got for selling the pickups. If not right now, definitely in the future. If I had an all original vintage guitar I'd keep it as it is.

Assuming everything in the ad is true, I think it's a shame to take them out of the guitar after nearly 50 years.

I don't hesitate to modify new guitars, but if something's old and untouched I think it's bad karma to mess with it.
