Just looked at Harmony Central and a lot of people have had the same problem:

''Here is the important part. I just recently got my amp back from the shop. I had the same problems as many people had with this amp. Random volume sags and such. Crackles and pops then the volume just disappears, then comes back randomly. I found out myself that there were bad solder connections within the amp because if i used the amp as a stool it would crackle if i moved. I just said screw it and brought it to the shop here. The guy fixed all the solder connections to fix the crackling, but the volume sags was different. He finally figured that it was the micro chip that had gone fubar. Once he replaced that it worked perfectly. Cost of repairs = $136. Would have been more, but some of it was on him because he didnt fix everything the first time around. Lucky me i guess haha! Didnt come with footswitch for obvious reasons. Seems impossible to find one here in the states. Search all the time.''

I would have said power valves...

It needs a proper service by a good tech.

I've had problems like that with my Rivera combo ever since I bought it - volume changes, random crackles and pops.  It's ex-demo and I just assumed some valves need replacing, but I've never been arsed to get it sorted out.

It's good that Coda said they can fix it, though i think it will probably come back someday again reading these reviews on HC.

I would of thought it would be bad preamp valves. because the same happened when I first got my powerball. Though that's great Coda can sort that out. When you get it back, ask them what tech they used, so I can use them in future. Cheer's joe
