Title: Buckers and Singles in the same guitar, 250 or 500K pots ?
Post by: Dazza1004 on May 18, 2007, 02:03:13 PM
I am planning on putting a Tone Zone S in the bridge position of my ash strat as a bit of an experiment.

At the moment it’s got a set of Apachies in there which I am guessing are wired up to 250K pots. Would it be best to just have 1 global tone control and replace the other tone pot with a separate 500k volume pot for the TZ. Will it make that much difference if I wire it to the existing 250K volume ?.

Thanks

wire it up with the pots you already have - then you can judge if you want to tweak the sound a bit more.

As a general rule 250k for singles and 500k for humbuckers works well

2 volumes is probably more usefull on a strat with humbuckers and singles because you can get a balance between the pickups easier
