Why are BKPs on that list? Won't it be more expensive than it is here? Or is it cheaper due to exchange rates? If it is, I'll be so pissed off! :x

I think you'll want Rudy's Music on East 38th for the Crunch Box.  I'm pretty sure that's where my mate got mine from recently.

BKs cost the same here as in the UK.

I've never purchased an OFR from a shop in NYC, always mail ordered mine.

Dunno about the MI, but two shops you should definitely visit are Rudy's Music (which is pretentious and lame but at least you can say you've been there) and 30th St Music (far superior).

More importantly -- can you meet up for a pint???

Cool!

Well, jet-lag and your personal schedule permitting, Tues night is usually good for me. I work until 7PM on Tuesday, usually. You may be dead man walking by 7PM NY time, tho!

On Wed night my band has rehearsal and you are more than welcome to come to the studio and observe if you like.

Thursday is usually no good for me. (That's bonding night for me and my son)

Friday evening is cool.

I do live just outside London ... by about 3,500 miles!!

No man, I'm a New Yawka. Born, bred, and still live here. What you would call a city rat here.

Watched Aladdin spontaneously earlier this week - It may be childish but it's classic.

I always thought TO was a geordie ex-pat with him wearing the Newcastle shirt all the time - he's a geordie but doesn't know it, that shirt is like a tattoo, it's in all his photos

To, if you've ever seen geordies on holiday you'd find this funny as I do - doesn't matter where you go in the world there will always be a geordie and they'll be wearing a Newcastle FC shirt, sometimes the whole family will be wearing 'em.

Thanx for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet up, gwEm! It's always great to meet the faces behind the text, as it were.

gwEm and I met up in Chinatown and then he headed up with me by taxi to our rehearsal studio.  We worked on the live set for an upcoming festival and then gwEm got to be 'treated' to a really rough new song which we played ad infinitum tryin to work out the kinks.

After rehearsal we retired to a local pub (Molly Wee) for a couple of pints & conversation. Unfortunately, at the tolling of the Witching Hour I had to start my return journey home.

A very fun evening and another forum alliance is forged!! \m/

Not sure what your plans are for the weekend, but if you want to meet on Saturday, you would be welcome to come over and play a few guitars.  Ben has all my details, but he said you are staying downtown.  To get to Hoboken takes 10 minutes on the Path from the WTC station.

No problems at all, I hope you got to the gallery on time!  It took me about 45 minutes to put everything away again!

For anyone who is interested  these are some of the guitars we had out:

1972 55 Les Paul Custom Reissue (P-90/Alnico)
1959 LP Junior (P-90)
LP Junior Clone (Pig-90)
LP Standard Clone (Riff Raff/Stormy Monday)
1986 Dark Back LP Goldtop Limited Edition with PG Blues set
1663 Firebird (mini-humbuckers)
1957 Tele with 55 Black Guard set (Flatpole version)
1959 Esquire with Brown Sugar/Mini-HB
1962 Tele with original pickups
1957 Strat with Apaches
1966 SG Junior (P-90)
1960 Les Paul DC Special (P-90's)
1968 335 with unpotted AII Stormy Monday's
1971 John Birch J1 with Superflux G pickups
Zemaitis Shell Front clone
Zemaitis Metal Front clone (Emerald/Mule)
Richwood Explorer (Warpig/MQ)
Super Strat with Holy Diver and Trilogy Suites
Hardtail Strat
MIJ 62 Tele Custom
PRS Standard with Rebel Yells
Warmoth PRS Clone with Miracle Man set
Ibanez RG Body/Warmoth Bloodwood/Ebony neck Nailbomb/Slowhand/Cold Sweat & Kahler trem
Gordon Smith semi-hollow Gypsy

All were played through an HBE Twighlight Drive (though mine is white!), into a Marshall 50W Silver Jubilee combo with a Celestion Sidewinder and Ear Candy extension cab with Sidewinder.

All in orange have BK pickups
