Damn I'm digging this guy at the moment. Heard of him a while ago & really loved the strat sound that he got, but I've just checked out the demo DVD he's got in the latest issue with Guitarist & it's amazing. Tons of tone & talent to burn, not your usual wanky solo guitar stuff.

You are absolutely right and indeed Hunter pointed out a nice clip of him of YouTube in a thread about Strat pickups and I found myself looking for more of him.His Strat tones stand out. His playing is wonderful.Like you, I wasn't at all familiar with him-makes you think what other undiscovered marvels are out there-isn't it great?

Iv'e just spent the last 30 minutes wondering where I first saw / heard his playing and it was over at http://www.licklibrary.com/TutorialsVideos.aspx?Section=7# (though you may need to register to see the videos, I'm not sure).
Just an aside but the Jonny Hiland videos are even more impressive (though it's wierd seeing a PRS and hearing something very like a tele)

Blug is an excellent player. Reminds me of Eric Johnson a bit, same sort of fluidity in the way they construct solos, and of course tone-wish not a million miles apart either.

Thomas Blug is indeed an axcellent player. I bought his DVD last year at music live and had a chat to him about the Hughes and Kettner amps he was demoing, nice friendly chap. Also check him out on the Hughes and Kettner website some tasty playing on there.
cheers
