Title: Looking for a very special Ceramic Bridge Pickup
Post by: octavio_amzer on May 29, 2007, 07:28:27 AM
Which can give me more organic tones of all the high gain Ceramic Bridge Pickups? Not interested in Alnico pickups on the bridge.

I already own a Miracle Man and want a powerfull Ceramic Pickup but with more definition even if there is alot of gain for my chords, more mids, tightness.

I need something that can OOMPH! on my power chords-palm mutes like the Miracle Man but that can also sound nice and defined on 4-6 noted shaped chords under lots of gain.

Think about a balance between Metallica and Opeth

if you like the miracle man why not get a custom higher spec version.

I believe MDV has one and is very happy with it.

That is the Ceramic Warpig. I had one and i found it more organic than the Miracle Man but still amazingly crushing with pleanty of gain.

No its not.

They're voiced rather differently.

I second the painkiller though. Need for mids and tightness points that way.

the Painkiller sounds as a great choice. A ceramic Warpig would be way to much don't you think?

So the Painkiller has plenty of Mids on it? and tighter than a Miracle Man    that sounds insane!

But would the Painkiller handle some big chords under high gain without making a mess? I'm tired of rolling down the knobs on my guitar for this  :(

and would the Painkiller be ok on my Alder body-maple neck rhoads guitar?

My Cold Sweat has lots of definition for full chords, i'd say try them all out first.

painkiller seems to have the miracle man tightness plus a full midrange spectrum and fatter sound, BUT i don't think it's gonna sound clearer than a miracle man
probably a cold sweat would be fine, but not as tight as you want
don't you think a regular alnico warpig would be tight enough for you?  :?

i think you're looking for the same pickup as me and all headbengah crew on this forum...

I ahve a CWPB and i dont think it would be the right choice for the sound you are looking for. It can be a little too hoigh gain for if you want extreme note definition with 5 - 6 string chords. Id say try a ceramic miracle man bridge. Or maybe a holy diver.
