I'm thinking of adding another Les Paul to the stable - either a flame top '59 style or a black custom with a mahogany top. The Orville by Gibsons seem to be a decent buy with all the right specs, but has anyone played one? I'd be buying blind so would appreciate hearing about any first hand experiences.
Cheers!

Sorry mate, no I haven't, but if their any thing at all like the Tokai's then your gonna be happy. Were are you getting it from?
-
Not decided definitely yet, there are a couple I know of that are with different sellers.
The other option is the Tokai relic at Coda Music but It hasn't got the proper headstock shape...

I think it's definitely worth doing what I didn't do (enough) - spend a few hours searching around on eBay, if you haven't already. There are loads of Orvilles, Grecos, Burnys, Tokais, Edwards etc at very low prices.
Some of the old ones are in varying states of decomposition, but the good sellers have loads of pics so you can see what you're getting.

Twin that's a lovely guitar & at £749 it seems a bit of a steal! I paid that for mine & it's not the relic'd version. But the only question I have with it is why is it discounted that much?
-
My thoughts exactly. I reckon the relic-ing looks a bit like the Vintage Les Pauls you can get for £299 too...
