Hello to everyone. My name is Todd and i am located in Phoenix AZ, and currently have 3 BK's. They are 2 Miracle Man's in the bridge of les Pauls and a Painkiller in a SG.
While the MM's are my main players, im looking for somthing with a little less....... grind, output. I need somthing a little more vintage in attitude, but not to the point where it will get lost when I change guitars.....
Im thinking Cold Sweat. Opinions???

i'd go for something non-ceramic for a more vintage sound.
What guitar is this going into?
-
A Minarik Lotus. A Mahogany Single Cut, that has some hollow chambers in it. It kind of a dark sounding guitar.....
-
why don't you try a VHII out? hot PAF tones galore.
Or if you're after something hotter to balance with the miracle mans i think a rebel yell will be great in that kind of guitar.
Whatever you choose i think it should definately be an alnico V magnet

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else? What Excatly would the difference Between the Cold Sweat and the Miracle man be? (COld Sweat soundclips are minimal around here.....)

cold sweat is ceramic, hot, tight, not as your pickups, but it won't be so different, so i suggest you an alnico pickup
maybe a rebel yell, crawler, or a holy diver if you want to keep the heavy chunkiness of your other pickups, but without that ceramic grind

I would recommend a Riff Raff for that setup. It's not a natural brightness to it which will sit nicely in the chambered mahogany, but still has miles of vintage tone.
