^ +1, you want a lubricating spray cleaner like the one Wez linked to (same as I use) - don't use WD-40, it will eventually freeze your pots.

Many thanks - I just got back from Maplin, so i'll have a go at cleaning my pots.

good for guitar pots & switches too + amp pots
