well? i thought they were both the same, like a silvery colour.
-
They both look very similar. The main difference is that nickel will age and chrome should never age, it should always stay shiny, and it is very hard wearing. Our new unpolished nickel covers look very nice, kind of a matt sliver finish. They will age even quicker!

thanks for clearing that one up. so chrome is definately the way to go for a les paul or SG.
-
It's all down to personal taste really, what ever you prefer!
-
aye, right enough. they come with chrome covers though
-
I like the worn nickel look myself. But I dig reliced to kingdom come guitars in general, dey'z bluz!
-
I love the look of well played guitars too, especially gold tops! Tims got one that’s slowly getting greener!
-
Les Pauls and SGs usd to always have nickel covers.
Look at old 50s and 60s LPs and the covers where intact and not gold are all nickel
New nickel is shiny but almost a bit smoky looking whilst a chrome cover is like you'd expect.
Nickel tends to age with the guitar (if finished in cellulose) and look the part
Chrome stays pretty new looking and can look out of place
Best to match the rest of the hardware you already have.
Some poor folks have allergies to Nickel- so chrome is a must or they come out in a rash

He should see a doctor about that
