Title: Know any good cheesy tunes?
Post by: Guitarzan on June 09, 2007, 05:09:06 AM
Basically my lead guitarist found out that I can sing a decent line and now he's telling me to learn some songs to sing by myself so I can get some girls. Know any good and cheesy tunes that'll make em fall over me?  :D  So far I can play House of the Rising Sun pretty well. Nothing to complex or I won't be able to play and sing at the same time   .

I am singing a few songs in my band. From the ones I do, I find "Where is my mind" from the Pixies quite easy to do singing/playing coordination wise.

Anything by whiny icon James Blunt, I'd imagine.

Or you could go crackhead-chic, Pete Doherty stylee, and land Kate Moss.

if you want to seranade a young lady i could suggest some Bryan Adams... a 'friend' told me a song by him called 'Heaven' is rumoured to be a good choice (cough cough).

"And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven"

cheesy indeed, but somehow cool...

Last Caress by The Misfits :D  jk

actually, seriously, Give my Love to Rose by Johnny Cash, if you feal okay singing something that could be country(Though its Johnny Cash, so its more badass than country).

Awesome song though, about a guy that gets out of prison and dies before he can tell his wife that he loves her.

Cash tells it better

okay, the video is pretty bad quality, but you get the idea.

Dunno about cheesy but if you want something thats reasonably easy to play (while singing and also quite easy to sing)

The ladies do think this song makes you sound a little vunerable and in need of their attention try this http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZNhR-PrTAFE as it has worked wonders for a couple of friends in the past :)

Apologies about the video but it was the one with the best sound quality I could find (christ I just noticed theres millions of cover versions of it out there these days).

It was in the Donnie Darko soundtrack too (but so much better than Mad World)

Rob...

"Cups and Cakes" by Spinal Tap (as cheesy as they come)

But for pulling/impressing girls "More than Words" by Extreme is definatly the way to go, I've lost count of the times I had to play that or Nirvana stuff (groan  )

Elvis Presley can be a good source of songs too, not that I'd play any of course
