Title: First Recording with Apache's
Post by: asimmd on June 11, 2007, 07:29:41 AM
Hi All
Got my Apaches last week and have installed them in my Custom Shop NOS 56 Strat.

These pick-ps do not have the reverse wound middle.

I used to have Fender 57/62 fitted, but I wanted something a little more defined and less toppy,I hope I have achieved that.

I only do instrumentals, being of the Shadows generation, that's the style I play.

This is Candle in the Wind, your comments would be appreciated, the file is here.

Thanks for listening.

That is nice  - such a sweet and rich tone, fab hank trem usage - what is the rest of the set up?  How do you like the Apaches compared to the Fenders?

Hi Elliot

Equipment check:

Custom Shop NOS 56 - Zoom 2200 echo(Special Program) - Behringer Composer Pro Compressor - Soundcraft Spirit M4 Mixer - M-Audio Delta 4/10 Card - Sonar 6 Producer Edition.

I haven't used any plug in's,just the above with a little EQ tweak on the desk.

I like the Apaches but,I also like the 57/62's and the original Fender p/ups.

The Apaches give me the more mellow/rounded sound I was looking for, still a Fender tone but, they can still do twangy.

Overall, more versatile than the Fenders,I like them.

Great. Good and sensible playing.
I am after this tone  and waiting for my Apaches.
Which amp and reverb/echo you use while playing live?
