This is basically true. To properly give you a snapshot of the relative EQs for each pickup, they would have to be clean, overdriven, direct, and distorted; in bridge, neck, and in between settings. Further, a basic EQ would plot bass, lower midrange, midrange, upper midrange, and treble. Finally, they would have to be relative, that is used in the same guitar. THAT IS A LOT OF WORK!
How are you planning on using the pickup?

The new site will be going live any day now...
...just as soon as Guns n' Roses release Chinese Democracy.
Sorry...
But seriously, Tim and the guys are busy making pickups, they're what pay the bills. I'm sure the site update will happen, but if you're waiting to decide what pickups to buy... it may not be a short wait.

I know I realize that just saying what was put there. No biggie just it would definitely help. I just got done playing. JB is a great pickup but if a few things could be fixed slighly lower mid hump (touch) lass muchier low end and top end to be is fine. It does sound kind of raggidy never the less but basic pup to go by. I have a few questions so may call him. Love the clarity of the JB.
I have narrowed it down to a few:
CS
RY
Crawler
and Suhr Aldrich pups.
One LP is tuned whole step down. other is 1/2 step. Not for metal. Heaviest I get is Whitesnake stuff. Lots of ACDC balls though like Back in Black and For Those about to rock. Cinderella blues rock. The neck parts are done CS for sure I prefer that for my lead style.

ahh..aldrich,I see-I was going for his tone when I purchased new pups for a standard I got recently...I got to talk to him about his new pups..like burstbuckers with a little mo' heat..after weighing several options,I opted for the Rebel Yells-nails it...I also have a MM in my Custom..nails it..ceramic,I know(J Sykes played a Dirty Fingers pup...ceramic,methinks)..the rebs are sooo balanced..I wish you could hear the harmonic overtones that jump out of my Boogie MK IIC+(in my case, I believe I could dial up those tones on any BK contemporary pup..amps get the nod in my thoughts on overall tone)..did you think about the Black Dog as well??oooh..the choices...a Mule...??best advice I have gotten from this board--get as many bk's as you can!!!!life is too short...

LOL!! Very funny. Your right so many choices. But $$ I would love to try thenm all out.

i was thinking of suhr aldrich pickups too... until i've read on their website that their pickups are "handwound by computers"

suhr aldrich description and specs remind me of a nailbomb or holy diver

Interesting site - seems to have some input from his tech?
I guess Tim said Cold Sweats because that's what he sold him.....
And it would have been the closest replacement to his 500T that he was keen on using - although better of course.
Dan may have also acquired some RYs though...
-
Tim recommended me Riff Raffs.... Or RY so I am going RY I like bit more heat.

Interesting... I guess that was with brightness and presence in mind.
I think my Riff Raff is my favourite BKP (so far), but that may be because it's in my favourite guitar. It's much more vintagey than the RY.
So will it be a calibrated set of RYs then? I believe the RY neck is very similar to the CS.
