Title: Pirates of the Caribbean - At Worlds End
Post by: Crazy_Joe on June 13, 2007, 02:16:51 PM
I was talking about this film a few days ago with _tom_ and saying how my mates would make me see this instead of something good  and how it was going to be cr@p and a waste of money.

But yesterday i was proven wrong!!
It's actually a quality film and i was awake for the full 3 hours or whatever it was which was amazing!
I am usually a harsh film critic and was expecting it to suck, but i was surprised at how good the storyline was.

Anyone else seen this film?

I rather enjoyed it
Some people said that there were too many story lines running parallel which made it hard to follow
I actually enjoyed the complexity of it - gave it a bit more substance

It was a good old fashioned action film.
Some of the FX were brilliant....

Glad you enjoyed it too

Yeah the FX were great, had some real funny parts in it too, which i thought worked well in this movie.

My landlady can't understand the 1st one

I still havn't seen the 2nd one but I'm hoping to see the 3rd one with the kids when I go home for a few days next week

I'm also glad to hear it's good, as the reviews have been a bit cr@ppy (but then as it isn't high art what else are they likely to say)

Someone on another forum summed it up nicely: "it was relatively easy to follow what was going on, though not why".

It's my least favourite of the three, and as with the second part you could easily lose at least an hour without affecting the main plot (if there is one?) in the slightest.

But it all comes together quite nicely at the end (I hope they don't spoil it by doing another one), and ultimately I've really enjoyed all three films.  The producers must spend every day of their lives congratulating themselves that they cast Johnny Depp and let him play the role the way he wanted.

I didn't really like the 3rd one, as I thought there was too much going on and ended up getting bored near the end. The first one is my favourite.

I think there was no need for all 3 movies; they should have just made one movie with the best bits of each movie and left the other 'space fillers' out! PDT_018

I'm with Philly Q on this, the beginning and end were really good, but could have done with about an hour taken out of the middle section, it just seemed to go on a bit.

I still haven't seen it - I've been trying to convince my mates to go with me for ages, but they just say it'll be cr@p and refuse...I may have to link them here for CJs response :D

I haven't seen it yet. I'm also curious about Tarantino's Death Proof.

Death Proof is cool, but planet terror is even better :D

I got to watch it a day before it came out in an advanced preview for free because my friend is a cinema manager.. I thoroughly enjoyed the free film.
