Title: Direct recording & silent practicing gear questions.
Post by: Mavet on June 15, 2007, 05:09:49 PM
hello
Just moved in with my girlfriend, and of course I'm making WAY too much noise, and don't want to be replaced by a non-guitar oriented dude  :? ...
I currently have an ENGL Savage 60 head and a framus 2x12.
I need something to record and practice silently with + headphones that can take the abuse. I have about 550 euro for both.

I love my amp to death, so my original thaught was a Koch Loadbox 120-II to run my amp through, but I won't be able to take it to rehersals without the entire amp so If anyone can recommend somethind more portable (preamp or amp simulator) that has a Very tight distortion it would be helpful.
I do have a pod II, but for metal purposes it sucks.

As far as headphones are concerned I was recommended the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro by a friend. again, input on the subject would be helpful.

Thanks

Maybe a DigiTech GNX3 or GNX4 ?
They both have loads of amp and cab sims and effects and you can record straight into them.

get a line 6 toneport or guitar port then get the metal shop upgrade. it gets a very tight high quality tone.

i use my mesa v-twin for that, only cost like £200 and can also be used as a full 3 channel tube preamp... Covers a LOT of ground too
