Title: Metallica/ Rebel Yells / Diezel
Post by: hunter on June 16, 2007, 02:58:57 PM
Someone asked to make a cranked clip with the Einstein, so here it is.

Well, this is Master around 08:30, which is cranked if you ask my neighbours :?

Playing a bit sloppy and well the original solo is just too quick for me ole man  :(

One take except for the clean bit at the end, I had to switch in the chorus which required a second take, but no change of settings, just the mode.

All played in Mode3 on Channel 1 except the clean which is Mode1 Ch1.

Ohhh and here is another clip taken with the Diezel on the same settings as above but instead on Mode2 Ch1 and on the Lead Channel. Played on a Gibson LP Special with BKP-P91/92:

a little less bass and more treble, that would be pretty much it then, right?

There is lots of EQ range left allpotis were around noon. But better for those is a cranked and boosted Marshall for sure.

that clip owns! the einstein does seem to get a lot better as it gets louder. YU've just about nailed metallica with a lil combo : :)

Thanks, well "nailed Metallica" would require minimum doubled tracks per guitar, also maybe less mids and ehem, some practise ... but I liked the way it felt to play with this a bit less tight setting.

By the way, it is not the combo. Combo is 50W, has reverb and a slightly different voicing. I own the 100W head (more fun as you can mix pairs of different power tubes) and play it through a ported 2x12.

Diezels are quite special and not as easy to dial in as other amps, the EQ is very extreme (compared to a Marshall or also my Bogner, which are more subtle). You should give the amp a try if you can.

I compared it to many other amps in the shop (Marshall VM, Orange RV, HOOK, Mesa, Soldano Avenger). I preferred the Avengers lead sound, but it lacked the loop and channel switching options of the Diezel.
