Is the a way of testing(can't see numbers on them) with a meter if so what setting etc...thanks
-
I'm 97.89 percent shure they're 500k.
-
you can measure them across pin 1 and pin 2 when turned down, they'll usually either show 250 or 500 KO
Normally it should be printed on the pot as well.
-
so what to set on tester..and this ain't no ordinary sg was the dodgy 90's one that originally had Blawence pickups
-
pots are really cheap, id just as soon switch em out. then you know what you have and you know they are brand new

set it to a value that you can read between 200 and 600 KOhm, value should be either 250 , 300 or 500 I guess

You can't test the volume pots with the pickups attached by the way, you won't get a reading. Tone pots are OK to test all wired up though.
-
might just swap out, these are 90's the ones that had bill lawrence pickups(labeled gibson, had a pcb board on them ahh, now been rewired and other guitar) so prob cr@p anyways...recomendations for pots etc..twinfan

500k pots.
Caps? 0.022uf Orange Drops are OK, or Hovland MusiCaps if you want to splash out. I've got some old random ones from AxesRUs which seem pretty good too.
