Title: My new pedalboard...
Post by: Mr Ed on June 21, 2007, 12:20:53 AM
Dearest board, I love thee!!

(Apologies for the cr@ppy quality, my batteries were about to die so I couldn't use the flash... also couldn't be arsed to find better batteries)

I took this last one with the flash so it would illuminate and you can see the little bit of space under the tier, pretty handy for storing a couple of leads. I'll be using them for storing the send/return leads for my FX loop.

Thoughts?  :D

Oh yes, that also means I have a pedalboard for sale - it's a Pedalpad AXS model, worth about £120 or something and I'm after £50-60 plus postage if I can get it.

I love it - the built-in volume boost is time saver when it comes to solos, no need for an extra boost, ie, EQ. The various dials allow you to totally shape the sound ranging from the, errr, range to the final toe-down position and the sweep.
Best wah I've tried, bar none.

Very nice. How do you find the MXR Stereo Chorus? I've been considering buying one, but reviews which make any sense have been hard to find.

Took the board's cherry at practise last night - it's so frigging useful. My setup time has been more than halved and it's so usable - everything is within reach, no steep angles, nothing's too high off the floor. Just plain old fashioned LOVE for this board. Lyt pedalboards rock my socks clean off.

I honestly don't know where the case was made. All I know is that the board itself is made my Lyt Pedalboards...

... and Dan just said that he buys the flightcases in. I imagine there's a company that custom makes them to perfectly fit his boards and they have a little customer-swap going on or something. I don't THINK he makes them himself, I'm not 100%.

I $%&#ing LOVE it. I got to try it out for the first time last night at practise.

The controls are very responsive but I have to say that the best feature is the EQ! My complaint about the Maxon chorus I have is that it's quite trebley - the MXR allows you to roll off the treble and increase the bass to give it a much more rounded sound which... and trust me on this... makes a massive amount of difference. It gives a much warmer, analog sounding chorus.

Very adjustable, very controllable and very... very usable.

The Line 6's are pretty good but the Echo Park (delay) is far too noisy when it's engaged, it's hissy like a pissed off Cobra and quite annoying. Might have to get rid of it... but the Space Chorus is quiet though.

very nice!

I was contemplating whether to get a multi FX but might have to think again...

Where did you buy those loopers and how much?

I just got them off eBay, they're hand-made unbranded ones and they cost me about £25-30 each. Totally worth it.

I got a loop master looper off Ebay for £22.00-I just thought I'd contribute that.

Bargain.

As long as its a true bypass looper, it's all good.
