Title: Ceramic Warpig - Metal with some cheesey synths and leads
Post by: lepersmeesa on June 24, 2007, 03:00:31 AM
Hey guys,

Long time since I've been on the forum. Busy with uni, work, my bands next EP etc. Anyway, this is something I just did today as a bit of a tone test.

It is a ceramic warpig for all guitar parts. POD XT, hardly any post processing. Just cut at 60hz and at 13khz to get rid of the XT fuzz and useless frequencies down below!

Enjoy.

Just want to reiterate this bit for you... "my bands next EP my bands next EP my bands next EP"

Hurry up cos I want a copy! Heh.

As for this recording: What can I say? As ever a great clip mate. I must learn your secrets about getting your XT to sound so good! You mentioned cutting some frequencies out, did you use a software EQ for that or a pedal in the chain before the recording platform?

I have been considering some new pups for my Mockingbird, was going to invest in a set of calibrated Nailbombs, but after hearing this I might trawl the forum for more Warpig clips, heh.

Ending was a bit abrupt...
The rhythm sound could have been clearer but that's probably the fault of the recording techniques you employed.
I have a ceramic warpig too and I was actually vaguely surprised you didn't do a clean section to just show how good the pup is.
Anyway I feel you could be on to something with that track and it shows the power of the ceramics quite well.

Im not going to just stick in a clean section if I don't feel it fits the track. I did a sort of jazz track, that is my representation of the clean sounds.

The track ends abruptly also, as it is only an idea for now. Cheers for the comments anyway.

Fair enough; it's not my recording or song so it isn't my place to tell you how to do it - I was just trying to give a little constructive criticism. But you were right, I may have overstepped the line a little as I can get a little over - passionate when it comes to music and I was suggesting the way I would have done it.

Hi there,

with what kinf of guitar was that sample recorded (woods, scale-lenth, etc...)? Is the Lead the neck or the bridge pickup?

I just love this sample. It sounds so great and the lead nails perfectly what I'm looking for... but I need more info  :D

This was recorded with my blackmachine. 25.5 scale quilted mahogany for the body and snakewood for the neck.
