Ibanez=The Ibanez -or- The Red Guitar
LTD=The Tiger Guitar
Kramer=The Purple Guitar

I used to call my Takamine NP25 "Julia" because its shape was similar to my then-girlfriend of the same name & I couldn't keep my hands off either of them :-)
None of my other guitars have names apart from what they actually are - e.g. "Korina strat", "Desert burst", "Jackson Rhoads" etc...
-
Mines called "the girl" or chrissy
-
my old amp was called bertha . . . bertha, lovely bertha - how i miss her already. I have just sold her to get something more suitable for my terraced house
-
my old amp was called bertha
now thats a good solid name for an amp...sounds homely but gets th job done :roll:
-
Charvel = well... the Charvel
Flying V (not done yet... well, not even started yet) = Black Widow
Tele project (once.. Ben gave me major GAS!) = Chrissy :P hehe
-
My Epiphone is called Epiphany (since my mate thought that was actually how you pronounced the word when I showed it to him, and it's a girl's name :D) and my Gibson V is called Venus, rather imaginatively. ^_^
-
My Yamaha APX acoustic is called Emily, after my grandmother.
My other guitars don't have names except what's on the headstock.
-
My guitar has many names including:
B*stard
Fu*kin thing
Piece of Sh*t
due to me never ever being satisfied with it :(
-
Yes, I am also a sad guitar namer. :)
Ibanez RG670 - Bluebeard
Ibanez RG570 - Kitsune
Ibanez AS83 - Demi
Schecter Tempest Special - Honey
Schecter Ultra III - The Notorious B.I.G.S.B.Y.*
I also put "totems" inside some of my gear; for example, Bluebeard has a photo of the woman I got it from tucked in behind the trem springs, and there's an earring in the control cavity of Kitsune. Anybody else do this?
* not really :P
-
Well, yes. Although they've changed slightly...
SG (How do you type a hash on a mac keyboard?) No.1: Belldandy.
Double Six: Skuld.
Les Paul Std: Urd.
AV3: Used to be Urd, but is now Michiru
Bass: Haruka.
SG No.2: Bloodberry.
LP DC: Panther.
So, 3 Ah! My Goddess refs, 2 Sailor Moon and 2 Saber Marionette J... [Though Panther looks much better in SMJ Again and SMJ->X when she doesn't have such a silly haircut]
And now, I'm just hoping that I'm not due any more money. [I found an insurance policy had matured when I checked my bank statement came through and they hadn't charged me... I'd forgotten to change my address. (d'oh) And then there was another policy matured that I didn't know about. Then I found my old Post Office book...]

My Esprit - my esprit
My Admira classical - my classical
Strangely:

Well to say what do I call my guitar would be redundant...but I name it after a girl I met while taking french...she turnout to be a con artist, 6 years of classes turned into a baccanal, and all I learned was "For here or to go"
-
my old amp was called bertha . . . bertha, lovely bertha
I don't name my guitars. The Gretsch is call the Gretsch, the Yamaha is called the Yamaha. The BC Rich is called the Dragon, btw. (It has a big dragon on it, duh)
I do have a floor monitor called Fat Bertha.
-
i call all mine "bitch".
This goes for family members, strangers and even lifeless objects aswell as guitars :D
-
Rockbass = Blue Bitch
ESP = Camo
Ibanez = Squealy
Acoustic = Gordon
SG = shite
That's about it :p
-
Oddly enough, my old Strat is called Mathew after the guy I bought it from who was a sweet gentle soul but was sadly rather too fond of heroin. My Blue start has the startlingly original name of "Bluey" and my Tele is as yet un named. My Precision bass is simply "Pressie" and my acoustics wish to remain anonymous.
-
I used to have names for a few of my guitars:
I have lots with BKPs in but they dont seem to have names apart from the turqoise Lion which tends to be called "My Precious"
(http://felineguitars.com/spec_sheets/guitar_images/korina%20lion%20turq/korina-lion-spec-horiz-500.jpg)
My oldest is my purple Charvel from 1986 but just gets called Charvel
My longest running guitar (from 1988/9) was called Frankie as she was a real "Frankenstein" of bits and pieces. I made the body from some dense Brazillian Mahogany and the neck was an old ESP neck- Added an original Floyd, EMGs and some Schaller tuners and she rocked. The neckplate came from the Shadow guitar factory in Germany where I was working at the time and had the serial number 000666 (so rock and roll that I had to have it!!)
Oh and scalloped from fret 13-22
I made a sister guitar to her on 1999 and she generally gets called Blondie, because of her colouring. A light swamp ash body, all access neck, maple neck with rosewood board (scalloped from fret 13-22). Floyd and Duncans - must try some BKP Crawlers in her soon.

Wow those guitars are beautiful, but the "Precious one" is breathtaking.

Class!!! :lol:
I call my PRS "Brownie" and my LP "Problem Child".
I don't have a name for my Vee yet.
-
I have named my old trusty stratalike, Ben (after my son, he loves that guitar) and I have named the new Ibanez ...B.M.F 'cause it's a Bad Mutha F****R. :D :D :lol: :oops:
-
Bag o shitee..
I've only ever named one guitar it was my JEM7VWH it was called Lucinda
-
I call my 1964 Gibson SG 'Frankenstein' as it has got 2 bolts through its neck :) As with many of this era SGs the neck broke after I accidentally dropped it. No guitar luthiers where I lived in the 60's so a very quick 'bodged' repair of 'araldite' and a couple of bolts were used so I could play at a gig the next day :( .
P.S. I won't be asking Jonathan for a job at Feline :)
