Title: Pickups For Classic Rock In Basswood Guitar?
Post by: cheesney hawks on June 28, 2007, 06:40:43 PM
I have a Maverick Species 1 RG shaped dual humbucker fixed bridge guitar.  I love the guitar but I am not to keen on it's high output pickups.  I have read many good things about Bare Knuckle pickups and think I would like to try one in the bridge of my guitar.  I had thought about the Mule but I am not that clued up on the range.  I play mainly classic rock, AC/DC being my favourite and also a bit of Sabbath, Scorpions, Judas Priest etc.  Any advice please?

Basswood is a bit dark sounding so you'll need a bright pickup to compensate.

VHII's, Rebel Yells and maybe Riff Raffs.

I think Crawlers would go muddy in basswood.

Would Mules do the trick?

Or how about Abraxas as something a little different?
