Got my strat body off ebay for £59, I guess thats quite a good deal for a shielded ash strat body with pickguard.

Oversize 2x12 with Eminence speakers for £80.

Charvel Model 1C for about £200.

Recently got a Cornford Hellcat Combo for £1199 (plus seller met me half way to deliver and included a custom made padded cover) - retail new at £1999. Apart from needing a new set of EL84s, it was in A1 condition.
From my previous posts on here I know that my idea of an ideal tone probably varies from a lot of other people, but even allowing for this I think the amp sounds incredible.

Whenever i am selling stufff the people buying always seem to get great deals - i think i am a bit to thorough and honest in my descriptions.

i.e.  i sold an old vox ac30ss a few weeks ago, one sold the week before for twice as much.   the other listing was misleading and made no mention of the fact this was a solid-state ac30 and suggested it would give a 'classic beatles sound'.    I cant help but think i should have been a little less thorough in my description and maybe overexaggerated the sound quality of the amp (which wass surprisingly nice for an old ss amp.

I dont really mind too much though, i still got more than i paid fot it!!

^Ebay or not, £400 for that ESP of yours was a steal!

I've never been too lucky with Ebay for some reason - things which start off cheap seem to go out of my price range frequently, or I get outbid at the very last second. Much like Wez though, I've given away a few good deals, the last one being an almost new Morley Tremonti Wah for £45!

on a negative note, my girlfriend recently bought me a 16ohm Vintage 30 and G12H off ebay, both from different sellers. The vintage 30 came but was an 8ohm model - emailed the seller to ask for a 16ohm one like she paid for, but he is ignoring me completely. The G12H just hasn't come at all; emailed him, and he too is ignoring me. I'm pissed off

Yeah, I've had some poor ebay buys, mainly fueled by gas and poor rational thinking skills.
My charvel (£80) was stripped and has been awaiting a respray for months, and it came with a crack in the neck. Could also be fake according to the JCF.

^^^^^^^^^^^^nightmare^^^^^^^ebay really is a two sided thing, thats why i prefer to trade on good forums like this one, most ppl are trust worthy . i recently bought a head off ebay, a h&k solid state on that i could abuse so not to damage the good one an the git that sold it had did electrical repairs with frickin tinfoil....ingenius but bloody annoyin as im waitin on replacement parts now so the prescious is havin to be carted about to musty ass barns where i jam ...ragin.

I picked up my 57 strat for $1,800 and also my 57 Tele for $1,500 in 2000 on ebay before people were really using it.  Both were resprays and had changed pickups, but they were still worth a lot more than that then.  I also picked up a custom shop firebird 7 for $1,100 because the guy had it advertised as a Thunderbird with 3 gold pickups!

On the other side of things, I put my MIM '57 style neck on ebay as I'm gonna go for a more modern one, and the starting bid was £50. Came in last night to find someone bidded it up to £132  :o  :o !! I only paid £75 inc postage for it!
