WOW
Can't believe they played And Justice For All
damn I can't wait for the Finland gig now!!!
what surprised me the most though was James' voice, it's actually DAMN GOOD!
I'm trying hard to resist to check out set list spoilers
I wanna be surprised but at the same time I want to check out what kind of gems I'm gonna hear

i just cant do it no more.i cant listen to metallica an respect them.i mean load an reload where good in that blues rock vein they were in but stanger was dire.
i think im just a grumpy git but cant abide them any more.nor slayer.sure back in the day when they were doin somethin good.i just think they an many other bands have lost the way an are riding on old successes.

Wembley here i come :D

I have more respect for metallica than slayer, by far.
See, metallica have mellowed and started playing, frankly, shitee. But they did that because thats what they wanted to do.
Slayer tried a different sound, everyone hated it, they switched back to the old sound with a newer flavour. Everyone likes it. This is the definition of selling out.

"selling out"
I hate it when people blame people for trying to make money - They've found a product - Good on them!
-
well ive never liked slayer so i cant comment on them.
I dont even know why i dont like slayer the music just bores me
-
War Ensemble - One of the greatest Metal songs of all time imo.
Reign In Blood / Raining Blood (never remember which) - One of the best Riffs of all time.
-
i think slayer are defo a one trick pony and they did that trick 20years ago.i dunno i have a mentality that just because its old doesnt mean its good, though lightenin, puppets an justicce are 3 of my fav thrash lps slayer only have a few songs BUT im not just pickin on them exculsively.they are just th sort of poster boys of doing the same thing for x amount of years,at least metallica changed, the black lp is ok but i prefer load/reload.stanger is so shet.
but i guess its just my tast i prefer modern metal as its what i grew up on ye know....
but sayin that most modern bands that are supposed to be good i still dont like.maybe ive no taste

yeah but tis similar to a few other slayer riffs cant remmeber which as i dont like them much but ive heard basically the same riff repeated on 4 or 5 different songs with like 1 note added or played ina different timing but still its effectively the same riff....
:o i just realised i dont like slayer because all there songs sound the same to me

My mate is taking my bro to see them in Cardiff. Then my mate is off to the Finland gig.
I've not been invited

now you can at least hear the bass!
and james does sound good
-
When Rob Tru-howthehellyouspellit maria santa velacruz auditioned, he did the most difficult songs they ever made.
He really challenges the band doing the hard stuff and doing it good.
-
he's a good bass player. even though he looks like a monkey on stage :P

My views exactly :P

I grew up listening to Justice for All and still love the boys. Seeing them at Wembley on Sunday.
I also like Slayer but it depends what kind of mood I'm in (their lyrics aren't very paletable sometimes) BUT at times you cannot beat a bit of slayer and their riffs are pure evil. I disagree that all their songs sound the same, HOWEVER I always thought King & Hanneman's soloing styles were a bit pointless and it was this aspect of their writing that sounded the same. Tom Araya is a lethal vocalist, absolutely no doubting that.

Anyone know what order they are performing in, or where I can find out?

HIM: 6:10-6:50pm
Oh well - can't win 'em all...
Did anyone see 'tallica on that Live Earth thing yesterday? They cut out half their set with Jonothan Ross talking...They showed the end of Sad But True and the whole of NEM - You could hear the intro of Enter Sandman as well before they cut away to someone in some other country.
Have a good evening anyone seeing them tonight :drink:
