I have a Rivera knucklehead amp and just recently in the last week it has blown two slo-Blo fuses. Both times I had just turned it on, (I always have it on standby first,) and just as I flip the standby to ON it blew the fuse. Anybody know what is causeing this?

check your power tubes.

^ +1. You have at least one bad power valve.

Aye, sound like the tubes to me. My Marshall JCM800 blew in the middle of a gig once... I went through another 2 or 3 fuses before I found out it was the tubes. I ended up pull two of the tubes out & it worked fine thus confirming my dying tubes as the problem.

Thanks, guys, I had a few extra fuses to try and watched the tubes as I turned it on, and sure enough a big red flash(almost like a fire) went off in one of my power tubes. I pulled out that one, and its mate. Gives me a good excuse to try some better sounding tubes. I just wish it was biased for 6l6s. Does anyone want to rcomend the best el34 for cleans, ala much more headroom? and less harsh mids? thanks for your replies
