Title: Help name my guitars!!
Post by: WezV on July 03, 2007, 09:05:57 AM: Ok I need some names for my guitars because I have been far to unimaginative so far. But I need a theme

Feline tends to have cat names for his guitars, I am thinking names beginning with V

I have one sorted, it will be the ‘Wez Venables Vendetta’ – I was just calling it the singlecut before

I can think of quite a few suitably metal ones but am struggling for names with the classier stuff

I like the roman numerals idea but probably more in the firebird way i.e. 'wez venables vendetta V'

Wez Venables Violator makes me feel uncomfortable :wink:

only problem is thats the only that wasnt designed by just by me - I should save vision for something else, nice idea though.

I also came up with 'Wez Venables Victory'.

I suppose if i keep up with this idea i really need to make a v shaped guitar. That will be easy to name - 'Wez venables V'

How about Venus, Valour, Vincent, Viking, Veteran, Vantage, Vanquish (and whilst on a car theme the Wez Venables VW :wink: )

I still like victory - but its the kind of name that needs to be saved for something really special!!

i know some are taken but i figure i am ok as long as i am not making copies of the guitars that already have that name - dodgy ground maybe. A wez venables Vendetta will not look anything like a dean vendetta and the name seems too cool to pass on! Especially since it was the 'V for Vendetta' comics and film that gave me this idea

If you look at my first message i have a picture of a blue guitar with 'not viper' written under it because it does share similar characteristics with a ESP viper in that its an ofset SG kind of thing - although its still quite different to the ESP

I am trying not to go with overly metal sounding names!

I used to have an epiphone victory bass - awfull thing! but i think i could use victory as a name for one of my guitars because its a fairly common word at the end of the day - its not the same as calling my guitars stratocasters is it. I will not be stealing somebody elses made up words in an effort to fool people into thinking my guitars are something else.

I am also aware velocette is taken by a trace eliot amp and an old motorbike but i still think i will have to use that one at some point

Worse thing is every single bloody kid that says it thinks they are being original and truly funny - my grandad got exaclty the same thing all his life!!

I actually praise the kids for new, original and funny names they can come up with. my favorites so far are Mr Crazy Horse, Mr Menopause and Mr Vanilla balls - all ones i have actually responded to when the kids have said them quickly, oh how we laughed :P

I was listening to The News Quiz when Francis Wheen(sp?) complained that every October 31, loads of people come up to him and say 'Hallo Wheen'...

I kinda of slightly revived this thread for specific suggestions for the HH, TOM,strat i am documenting in the other big thread.

have plenty of name suggestions for the rest to keep me going for a while - But since the BKP forum has made a lot of design choices on the strat i might as well take suggestions for the name as well!!

such as:

in fact after typing that the 'Wez Venables Veteran' might be a good choice to go with the genrally battered look i am giving the hardware (and tim is giving the pickups).

I seem to remember Drac (who hasn't been around lately) making a mad metal guitar called the "Vorpal Blade"

it was pretty scary! if i was a jabberwocky i'd have run away!
