Good stuff.

No it was actually mainly the bridge although i do use all of the 5 positions at different points. it could be the cornford that has made it a bit bass heavy.
cheers for the feedback

tsc tsc, i didnīt say BK pickups are cr@p. i didnīt say that i only like or know or play extreme metal, iīm not a narrow minded junkie or something like that.
i Liked the playing(very good, way Better than mine), i liked the Sweet Tone(again, not bashing tim and his hability to make excellent pickups, and not bashing our friend that make the effor to post this awesome clip) and i just thought(since all of you lead workers like a good bright tone for soloing, doesnīt matter if blues, jazz, soul, funky, heavy, bluegrass etc) it could be a Little, just a Little little more Bright on the bass.
But sorry if you understood me Wrong. now iīm clarifying things up.
I LIKED THE PLAYING.

Welcome from me too. As John Major would surely have said "Most agreeable".

Very Very Cool!
This is just how i'd love to sound in a smoky bar with a beer, trouble is I don't sound that good anywhere.
Nice one.

You lucky bas*ard
Very nice playing there dude, loverly tone, really nice and relaxing.
I'm tempted to get a VH2 for the neck of my V with a miracle man in the bridge or a calibrated set of miracle men.
You might find it too powerful for a neck.............if you want a similar tone but voiced for the neck go for...............VHII neck. It's a special wind, still good and strong but clear too! 8)

Welcome - great sound!
-
That sounded really cool; reminded me of being in New Orleans. :)
-
OK, who's the deaf idiot that voted 'poor' on this one.............c'mon own up, let's hear what you've got to say!
I can understand maybe not personally liking this type of tone or playing but poor it is not.The playing is first class, very tasteful and with excellent phrasing, the tone...........pure Gary Moore.

Big Brother Ol might be able to find out.
-
your making me blush guys  . however i too would love to know what the person didnt like about it. thats why i put the poll; to find honest opinions.
i tell u what, to change the subject to the complete oposite of poor(in my opinon of course, lol). i have just purchased a THD Univalve. it will be with me in about 2 weeks. i cant wait!!! can u imagine how the VH2's and the THD will sound together. im not sure if my SM57 will be able to handle all the sonic info. ill be sure to post somthing as soon as i get it.

If it sounds anything like my VHII equipped Strat through a VHT, you will be made up. :-)
PS - extremely impressed with your playing. I'm sure the person who voted 'poor' was expressing their opinion of their opinion...

IT WASNT ME
ahahhaahahaah i didnīt vote in the poll
-
Excellent playing my friend, excellent tone.
What guitar are the VHII in ?
Regards
Phil
-
I gotta' say I don't hate it. Far from it.
Great playing and tone. I don't think it's too mushy at all.

Phil
the Guitar i used was a 1990 RG 550, i put the pickups in these as i was told that basswood allows you to hear the true sound of the pickup without any extra colouring.

Really nice sound and playing. It reminded me a bit of the newer Stan Webb things (Chicken Shack - Still Live After All These Years). It is interesting to hear how the basswood affects the tone of the VHII. I have mine in a PRS with a maple cap and I don't think they have quite as much bass. They are a really versatile pickup (Versatile Humbucker Too perhaps  ). In the PRS, the split pickup sounds are great too.
What other equipment were you using?
-
I dunno if I've allready replied but that sounded amazing! My newest Mule demo's been deleted or something
-
What other equipment were you using?
i was using the Cornford 6 watt harlequin. i am gonna post somthing with THD very soon, too see if i can get even more from the pickups.

Very nice!, thick and soulful
I didn't mind the popping either...., my comp needs more ram too, i'm used to it
-
Awesome clip - the tone, the style and the playing are all brilliant; great soulful blues guitar. This clip has confirmed to me that often it is the space between the notes that determines a solo's greatness.
Can I ask who your influences are as a guitarist (tone and style)? Your playing has inspired me to practice that little bit harder.
Keep up the good work,
- Hamish.

Welcome to the Forum!
This received an "Excellent" from me.
Though I agree, the voicing of the Carrera/Harlequin is on the smooth/dark side, which is why I didn't buy it and got a UniValve Top instead. I love to listen to these Santanaesque creamy tones, but don't like to play them (I need more crunch to get excited:)
Great Tone and playing, wanna hear more !!
Re the crackle: Maybe you could get rid of it by increasing the sample buffer / latency in the soundcard/host app settings. If you're not real time monitoring the recording, latency is no issue anyway.
-
Love the clip - FIT tone 8) I'll play like that one day. Probably when the mood swings stop.
-
Smokin' tone. Welcome to the Forum. Nice playing as well.

er, this was first posted July last year  .

LOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!
got me too here

Its still 2005 isnt it?
-
Well I am stuck in 1966 at the moment ( no not the World Cup)- going through one of my many 1960's music phases- saddo!
-
Don't start with 1966, I am German and I tell you: that was NO GOAL !
,)
-
You can tell how uninterested in football I am by the fact that the 1966 final hadn't entered my head and I find it mildly embarrassing that my countrymen dwell on that. '66 was a vintage year for music imho.
-
Great!! I like it lots!

Probably when the mood swings stop.
They don't. You're gonna be like this for the rest of your life, may as well give up.....  jokes
