So...Gibson doesnt say what spacing the Burstbucker 3 is....does anyone know? Im gna put a Black Dog in the Bridge of my LP, what spacing do i need?

Easiest thing is get a ruler and measure the distance of the saddle spacing centre to centre of your bridge.

OR measure the pole spacing of your bridge humbucker low E to high E.

From what I've heard most of the Gibsons are 50 so thats a pretty safe bet. Can't you just measure the one you have? That's all I did with my LP.

I think all Burstbuckers are a "standard" 49mm spacing.  Then again, loads of Gibson guitars have 500T or 498T bridge pickups, which are 52mm.

My point being, don't measure the pickup, measure the strings - directly above the bridge pickup polepieces.  Then get whichever is the closest match.  50mm is usually fine, but sometimes the tune-o-matic saddles are notched to give a wider spacing (depending on who set it up at the factory), so 53mm can match just as well.

which is weird, even though the humbucker is spaced 52mm, the strings directly above it are 50mm. like my V was for example. what's with that?

If the strings are at 50 above the pickup, get a 50.

I found the easiest way to measure the pickup was from the edge of the first post to the edge of the last post, left or right doesn't matter as long as it's the same for both.

Ok. so do i measure from far edge to far edge of the fartherst poles? or center to center? Cuz edge to edge is 53-54ish and center to center is 50???

Same edge to same edge. So left edge of the left post, to the left edge of the right post.

thats as much as you need to worry about it
