Title: What would you do with £1000
Post by: ailean on July 22, 2007, 10:34:00 PM
Just for fun, assume you've been given £1000 credit in the music shop of your choice, what would you buy?

(USD$ 2055, Euro 1485 at current rates)

If I can't just grab the money and disappear, I'd buy something to sell it and invest the money. ;)

Completely not answering the question, but I wanted to show off:

My parents gave me £5000 for my 18th, which they'd been saving for me since birth (good job they're good at those stock market things eh? :P ).

Anyways, I bought one of these (http://www.alienware.co.uk/product_detail_pages/Aurora_m9700/aurora-m_overview.aspx?SysCode=PC-EU-LT-AURM9700&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT), and saved the rest.

If it could be in more than one place then I'd get an Engl 4x12" to go with my Savage & this Raimundo 630E (http://www.classicalguitar.co.uk/onlinestore/classical_guitars_instrument_selection96.html) that I played at LGS...

I'd go the amp route, I'd like a head + cab arrangement. I'd probably try to get as good a head as posible and a cheap cab to start, then save for a better cab.

At least you wont have to worry about getting stung by the import tax man. I've got a ding in my DY already  :(

I would get the Hello Kitty Fender Stratocaster in pink, get an Original Edge Locking Tremolo put in. One BKP of course and replace all the hardware. Put in a kill switch and some other goodies like LED's inlays and a laser on the headstock. I'd remove the Squire logo too...

Thats me got myself one slick San Dimas-esc Super Strat.

save it, or buy a new laptop...

aren't i boring ;)

if it had to be guitar stuff i'd get a nice p90 les paul copy and pimp it up, then spend the rest on handwound pickups for my guitars that dont have them.

As it happens i`ve also bought a PodGx so i can start recording onto computer. So that only leaves £50 for curry !   :D

Yeah, I should have stated my intention better, the idea was that your purchase should be to do with your rig / guitar / music or similar. I should have just said 'To spend on your music gear'.

If I actually had £1000 I'd pay off my overdraft, but that's not as much fun or as interesting reading.

I would probably pick up an Ibanez RG2228. Two more strings! I could add 33% extra "suck" to my playing with ease!

Gonna change my entry as I've bought an amp head and cab now (for a lot less than a grand).

Now I think I'd be speaking to WezV about a custom to fit around an Irish Tour set.
