Title: Wiring
Post by: vrgnr08 on July 23, 2007, 02:51:34 AM
So. im gna order my Black Dog tomorrow and i want to make sure i get everything right. I know the spacing is 50mm now, but i dont know what to get for the wiring....Stock my guitar came with the pickups phased in the middle position on the pickup selector? The pickups were both Gibson Burstbuckers. I dont really care if the pickups are still phased or not. Im just wondering what wiring i need to get, or does it really matter? So 2 conductor or 4 conductor?

4 conductor will give you more options, however, if you don't want to you don't need to wire it to have the extra options.

If you pick 2 conductor it does make it easier to wire the pickups, although you can't change your mind at a later date and install coil-splits etc.

yup, doubt many companies would last if there products disabled the use of bridge pickups

I got my BK pups with 4 conductor, fully intending to wire them in standard format for now. The pups came with instrauctions on how to wire them, it was my first attempt and it went fine (although i did burn my finger!).

From memory

Red wire to the switch
Black and bare wire to the pot casing (earth)
Green and white came joined together, just leave them alone.
