Title: Looking for a neck to my war pig I will order
Post by: nick_allbutover on July 24, 2007, 05:33:56 PM
Ok, so what I want is the Slash kind of singing neck tone of a Seymour Alnico 2, but I kind of want a BK pup.

I am getting the War pig distressed cover and I want a neck to match, meaning a distressed covered neck with a different warmer more vintage tone than the War pig.

Any suggestions??

VHII Neck, Black Dog Neck or Mule Neck..

VHII has a bigger mid hump and lovely singing tone
Black Dog is like a Mule with more bark
Mule is very neutral sounding but very sweet.

I got recommended a stormy monday neck when I asked for a pickup that could do slash lead tones, so you should also considor that.

The Mule neck will give you the tone you want, no question. However, I'm not sure if it might be slightly overpowered by the Warpig in terms of a volume differential. Could be something worth checking with Tim - he'll probably be able to give you a definitive answer on that.
