First attempt with my new Hughes & Kettner Triamp Cab, these are the first Greenbacks of my life. I love the way they compress the highs and are scratchy in the mids.
For proper low end it needs to be cranked which I couldn't do today (as usual)
Both guitars are:
Epiphone Les Paul with Black Dogs
Vovox Cable
Bogner Shiva
H&K Triamp Cab

I'd love to try a Shiva through V30s, I think I'd be in tone heaven.

I want to know what the secret is, and what your mp3 converter is? I can't believe how much clearer your clips sounds to everyone elses! How the hell are you getting files that are as detailed sonically as a PCM wav file, into an mp3?

Hmm, don't know really. It's probably the fact that I am putting the guitar quite loud in the mix, which gives it more bits?
This is what I usually do:
1. Standard SM 57 into Mackie 1202 (the old one)
2. Via Aux Send to en EMI 6/2 Interface (16bit, 44KHz)
3. Into Logic Pro on my G4 Powerbook
4. Normally I run the master through a bit of the Logic "Adaptive Limiter" plugin, which is good for blowing up levels. Levels are important especially on mp3. Compressed audio formats aren't made for dynamics, if you don't use up your dB range/bits you will lose quality/detail, so some kind of mastering compression is advisable, just don't overdo it.
5. I am then using the logic internal mp3 export, don't think it's any special, I guess it's utilising the apple standard codec

I am pretty new in this forum but I have at least 5 different sets of Bare Knuckle pickups and love them... I have the Riff Raffs, Mules, Stormy Mondays, Crawler, VII and a set of Black Dogs that after hearing your clip are going into one of my 30 guitars... Thanks for posting this clip..
I am so looking forward to installing these ASAP.. right now I have a set of Stormys in one of my Les Pauls and a set of Riff Raffs in another.. they are not coming out..! love them both.. Tim mentioned that he has a set of the Riff Raffs in his 59 Les Paul style guitar.. I love them they have incredible character... :)
Have you done any other BK pickups and if so how can I hear them? Is there a way to check each users sound clips to see if they have more to hear...? I would love to hear any other pickiups you may have down sound clips to.. I like your playing style.. !

You can do a search in the "players" section for user "hunter" - there are clips of my VHII equipped SE Singlecut, my BKP-91/92 equipped Gibbo doublecut special as well as my RebelYelled Axis and one or two of a MiracleMan in the Hamer Sunburst. I also posted some clips on http://www.netmusicians.org/
I recommend to listen to some other guys' clips too, here are some awesome players with taste & tone, welcome to our cozy forum !

Thanks for the advice, you are right about limiting, it gets all the headroom out of the audio and makes it much louder, without clipping the sound. My recent recordings are no longer bad sounding. I've been experimenting some top class limiter and compression plug ins and it really works. I'm now using Waves plug ins for mastering, like the C4 and L3, and the Isotope Ozone. I havent even posted anything since using them but they make an enormous difference. I'm now using the windows mp3 converter and it works fine, problem solved.
