Ok, so i've been paid and am about to send cheque for my custom build off... but after listening to some more clips i'm stuck between the Miracle Man and Nailbomb!
Guitar specs:
-Swamp Ash (no cap)
-Maple Neck
-Floyd Rose trem
-Bolt on
-Mothers Milk Neck
Will go through a Boss SD-1 into my Fallen Angel (bass heavy amp tbh)
Bands sounds i like:
-Power Metal (ie Helloween, Yngwie, Stratovarius etc etc)
-80's thrash (tallica, destruction etc)
-In Flames!!!!
-Maiden!
-Zakk Wylde pinch harmonics (lol)
Most of the Nailbomb lead clips sound good to me, and the MM demo sounds ace but far far too Zakk Wyldey, and the other MM clips are either on lower gain than id use or heavily processed.... so cant really compare them (but if i wanted a Zakk tone....)
Decisions like this hurt my head... I may just copy Steve and go for a NB as his tone kills on all his clips.

chrisola - I've voted for the MM set. Judging by what you'll be playing I think they would suit you best.
If you were going to be playing anything a lot heavier I'd go for the Nailbombs but the MM neck pickup sounds amazing.
Just my opinion though - there are prob more to come from the guys who know a lot more than me abou these pup's.

Hi,
I have only ever gigged and recorded with the Nailbomb so my opinion is a little one sided. The only thing i would add is the Nailbomb may be a little more versatile and i can get whatever tone i want out of it by tweaking the amp/effects settings.
The Miracle Man i have never tried but it sounds awesome, but at the end of the day the choice is yours young jedi!!

I think you should go for the MM. It will go better with your bass heavy amp, it will tighten it up nicely. Nailbombs have a big sound. The music you describe has a more tight and focussed sound.

I have both, but the MM is in an Explorer. I voted for the nailbomb. I have one in a Strat with 2 Trilogies. It is very versatile and I like the split combination sounds too. The MM is more of a fixed sound (a great sound though  ).

How about the Cold Sweat? I just checked the brand new clip in the Players section. Sounds to me you'll get a bit of both from it.

I noted for the Nailbomb. I just ordered a set myself and i have tried out both. I personally liked the more open " organic " tone of the nailbomb, cleaned up very nicely and the lead sounds amazing. But its down to your taste.
But one vote here for Nailbombs

Hails man... your guitar will be VERY BRIGHT. did you think about a ceramic warpig?!
if not, go for the MM bridge!

I think I'm posting this too late, but I don't think the Miracle Man is the right pickup for what you're playing. Just my opinion, tho. I have a VHII in a hard ash 70's Strat that absolutely smokes, but I wouldn't necessarily use it for power metal or thrash. I don't own a Nailbomb and can't comment on it. The Cold Sweat sounds like it may do the trick as well, but I'm only going by the clip I've heard.

i'm going for a Nailbomb!!
6-8 weeks time i'll have some photos and hopefully clips up, just sending the email now to confirm the price + spec, then sending off my deposit 8)
