Title: Waxing a guitar

Can I use any wax(this is a cheap project, like wood wax from B&Q) or is there specific wax for doing guitars, sorry first full project..so am a bit thick on this subject

I use Citin pure beeswax. Normally used for furnature. As long as it's beeswax (maybe with a little carnuba) it will be totaly safe. As long as there's no chemicals in it.

a prepared beeswax like briwax is good  - its softer so easier to apply!!

can be found places like wilkinsons as well as some of the diy shops.  I would avoid anything that contains dye!!

Eggle apparently used briwax for their waxed finishes
