NEW, HIP, AND UNDER THE RADAR
BOUTIQUE BAD-ASS
Several months ago, a friend called and said, "There's some guy in North Carlona who's building an amp that nails Eddie's brown sound." That "guy" turned out to be Scott Splawn, a boutique amp builder who's particularly talented with Marshall circuits. Splawn's hand-built 100-watt Quick-Rod head is based on several Marshall-style circuits and housed in your choice of Marshall-esque cabinets. But, as I had been advised, it's the amp's ability to uncannily replicate Van Halen's brown sound that has made it, and Splawn, a sensation almost overnight.
In a nod to the spirit of hot rodding, the Quick-Rod's three high-gain modes are called "gears." Each has two gain settings, giving the amp a total of six hih-gain modes. First gear is where you'll find the beautifully tight, woody, and three-dimensional approximation of Van Halen's early tone. Second and Third gears progressively add gain and are tuned more for modern metal, but the amp never loses its laserlike focus and precise articulation. Blues-men will also be overwhelmed by the amp's Clean channel: It's stinging attack and cavernous resonance combine for one of the most inspiring tones in its class. From vinatage "Plexi" blues to the hottest modified JCM800 distortion, the solawn Quick-Rod serves up a connoisseur's cornucopia of Marshall-inspired tone.

Stop tempting us!
I really want one of these amps - but I just can't afford it...
I'll stick with me 800 instead!

Best amp i've ever owned the Quickrod.
Easy to use and tone to die for, and the solo boost is awesome, takes your head off.
-
Didn't get along with my Splawn, not a bad amp though.
-
Do you still have your Splawn - if so, how much are ye selling it for?
Andy!

I've not heard a single bad clip of any Splawn. I'd love to try one out a Pro-mod.
This looks frigging cool

the small amount of quilted maple is a nice touch - got me thinking!!

A Splawn Quick Mod is something that i'm striving to get one day, but i really can't afford it at the moment- i need to sell off a few things and try and save on a limited budget! The quilted maple is very cool, as is Twilights' front panel :) The front panel is something that I haven't decided on yet, i've been trying to think for months!

Cheers mate,
My US Wolfgangs are my #1 guitars now.
My 70's Les Pauls are too heavy for me now due to an ongoing shoulder injury. The Wolfies are nice and light, necks play like butter and sound awesome through the Splawn.
There's a video of them paired up on here ....

You can here the solo at the end, the Splawn cuts through nice !!
